Case Study - Anderson Design

Brief: Constructed in Wellington by Anderson Design, the Artefact Case was originally specified in July 2011 using a set of competitors steel pressed drawer slides. Having fitted them in the workshop they worked fine, but as is the case, when installed at the museum, things started to go wrong. Concern began when it was noted that the force required to open and close the draws was too much and due to the delicate nature of the fabrics and cloaks, would have meant too much shock and vibration, which would have damaged the ”taonga’ (Cultural treasures).
